Security Survey, Risk Probability Study and Country Intelligence - Gold Fields DRC

Gold Fields Limited, one of the world’s largest gold producers, was considering establishing an exploration presence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, shortly after the end of the civil war in that country. Erinys was contracted to carry out a review of the on-the-ground security situation and a detailed risk analysis of the political and socioeconomic operating environment.

The Erinys approach combined a ground security survey by one of our specially selected security consultants who produced a comprehensive plant and site security plan. The security plan was supported by a detailed risk impact probability study on the area surrounding the site, as well as the country as a whole. These studies were produced by Erinys’ research and analysis team based at our African Regional Office in Johannesburg.

On request, Erinys also provided updates on the security and political situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and further risk assessments on other countries.”
